The India Story: Strong Export Focus
India's emergence as a global export powerhouse is no longer a projection — it is a measurable, data-backed reality. Over the past decade, the country has undergone a fundamental shift from being primarily a domestic consumption economy to one that is aggressively and systematically building its presence in world markets. The numbers tell a compelling story.

$863 billion
India's total exports in FY26, the highest in the country's history.

4.59% growth
India grew its exports in a year when most major economies were contracting.

200+ countries
the reach of India's export network, from pharmaceuticals to automobiles to software.

5.79% rise
India's cumulative export growth over the first 11 months of FY26, outpacing global trade averages.
The MSME Engine
India’s export growth is not concentrated in the hands of large conglomerates. It is broadly distributed. India has 63 million MSMEs, which contribute 35% to the country’s GDP, provide employment to 111.4 million persons, and account for more than 40% of India’s exports. MSMEs account for nearly 45–48% of exports, according to the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
This means that the export momentum is fundamentally tied to the health and ambition of small and medium businesses — which is precisely the audience that international trade shows are designed to serve.
Policy: The Government Is ActivelyPushing Exports
India’s export surge has not been accidental. The government has deployed an ambitious and multi-pronged policy framework to accelerate it.
- The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has been central to this push. The PLI schemes, worth ₹1.97 lakh crore, aim to boost exports by promoting large-scale manufacturing in 14 critical areas.
- The Foreign Trade Policy 2023 set out a clear national ambition: the government has set a target of $2 trillion in exports by 2030, comprising $1 trillion in merchandise exports and $1 trillion in services exports.
